The Egg
The mosquito life cycle starts when a female lays her eggs on or near standing water. They can get this water from puddles, clogged gutters, flowerpots, birdbaths, and bottle caps. Depending on the species, a female can lay anywhere from 100 to 300 eggs at a time.
